Walk-In Activities
These activities are available without a reservation and are great for adult and children. Activities are open to ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 12 are not to be left alone. There must be one adult per five children.
Maximum number allowed without a reservation: 7.

Mosaic Candle Holders
Learn how to make a beautiful mosaic candle holder using stained glass, grout, and glass vessels. It’s quick, easy, fun to make, and guaranteed to set the mood. Got something you would like to mosaic? Bring it in.
Materials are included.
Cost: $8.00 for SIUC Students, $10.00 for all others.
Scrap Wood Sculptures
Build a unique sculpture with specialty pieces of scrap wood from our Wood Shop. Let your imagination sculpt the perfect creation. Beautify the sculpture with paint, stain and other decorations.
Materials are included.
Cost: $4.00.
Macramé/ Hemp Jewelry
Create jewelry and other trinkets using ancient tying techniques. Incorporate mesmerizing beads and other goodies into the hemp to create a unique piece of jewelry!
Cost: $4.00.
Tie-dye
Make your own tie-dyed T-shirt at the Craft Shop. You supply the shirt and we supply everything else. Instructions for various patterns are available. Who says you’re limited to just shirts? Bring in other garments to dye, but make sure they are cotton.
Includes: Rubber bands, bottles, and place to make a mess.
Cost: $4.00 plus cost of dyes.
Beaded Jewelry
Integrate seed beads to your piece of jewelry. Our extensive selection of beads will knock your socks off! For a little extra pizzazz, bring a little extra green to purchase our handmade glass beads, semi-precious stones, and other treasures. These treasures will really add spice to your creation. Includes: seed beads, wire and fasteners. Other types of beads are extra.

Origami
Origami is the ancient art of folding paper. Learn some special folding techniques to create cranes, flowers, stars, and other mystical objects. (Subject matter dependent upon instructors abilities). We supply the paper and the instruction, just bring your two hands!
Includes: paper and instructions.
Cost: $4.00.
Decorate Flip Flops
Accessorize a pair of flip flops with flowers, ribbons, paint, and much more. We carry various sizes and colors. If you bring your own flip flops we’ll cut the price in half!
Includes one pair of flip flops and decorations.
Cost: $5.00
Clay Throwing
Give the pottery wheel a whirl! Throw a clay pot with your ingenuity at hand. Decorate with slips the same day or choose a solid color glaze (we’ll help you out). We will fire the pieces, box them up, and contact you when they are finished. Due to the difficult nature of throwing, a finished piece cannot be guaranteed the first time around. On the other hand, we do guarantee you will have fun making a mess in the process. Instructional PowerPoint is provided. (1 ½- 2 lbs makes one small pot).
Cost: $3.50 for 2 1/2 lbs, $10.00 for 10 lbs.
Paint a Masterpiece
Get together and paint a masterpiece with one or more participants. Unleash the artist from within, and let the Craft Shop show you the way. Collaborate on the same piece or do your own thing. Paint, palette, brushes, and paint board provided.
Cost: $5.00 per painting
Make a Greeting Card
Take advantage of our extensive rubber stamp library. Utilize our supplies to create your own greeting cards for any occasion. We provide stamps, inks, and other fun supplies to accommodate you. Purchase the cards with matching envelopes and check out tools, papers, inks and decorating supplies at no extra charge.
Cost: $1.00
Baby Handprints or Footprints
Savor the lovable memories in plaster with a three dimensional imprint. Do it before it’s too late!! Your baby’s hands will never be as cute and cuddly as they are at this very moment!!
All materials included.

Hula Hoops
Make your own heavy duty hula hoop with the friendly folks at the Craft Shop. This activity is fun, cheap, and takes no time at all. Let your hips swing to the Hawaiian Hula! Piping, duct, and electrical tape provided.
Cost: $10.00 each
Cast Your Face in Plaster
Make your own mask. The mold can then be used to press in clay and make a relief of your face.
Cost: $25 includes supplies for the mold.
